I ended up going to Cland over Laurel Tues. night on the simple gut feeling of, "don't fix it if it ain’t broke"! I have been to Cland one night a week for the past 6 weeks and have had, what for me is very good fishing. I don't know if I've gotten better at it or if all the fish being confined in a smaller area has just made them easier to catch, but I figured I'd keep doing what has been working for me for the past weeks. Plain and simple, a jointed redfin worked very slowly with 8 ft of the bank while fishing parallel to the bank.

On to the report, Fished mid lake and had the best action on a steep bluff wall just out side of a small cove on the main lake. Ended up with 6 walleye between 18-22”, a couple of short stripes, and 3 Ky’s. All were caught on a Redfin. Action was best between 130-330. After daybreak we cast a variety of things(Spinnerbaits, deep diving Husy Jerks, Tail Dancer) and caught 2-3 small LM and 1 small SM. Most came at the backs of coves with fresh water coming in. We tried the nightcrawler bottom bouncing technique for the first time and all I can say is I need to improve my technique. Way to many hang ups!

I took a buddy with me who had never caught a striper so striper was high on the "to do" list. He caught a 15’ smallie and a drum on a white spinnerbait. He also caught a walleye and 2 short striper, one of which was the smallest striper I’ve ever seen, on a shad rap.

The shad spawn is really winding down but I guess I’m going to hit it again next week and keep going until I get skunked.
