Lake rage????

I've been in a small 14' row boat and had fishermen in bass boats go past at 1/4 throttle and just about swamp my family and me. No 'excuse me' or anything. I've been in a closed bow 15' boat, fish on the line (a nice one too, I might add) and had a bass boat cross within 20' of my stern throwing a huge wave. I had to drop the rod and steady the boat so my family would be safe. Idiots drive all sizes of boats. You may be small compared to a cruiser, but you're big compared to a row boat. Everyone should watch what size wave they're throwing. This world needs less rage and more courtesy towards their fellow man, land or sea. Turn the other cheek?

A bass boat on plane will not put out a large wake. A bass boat going fast might make some people mad but it will not make those huge waves...

I had a moment this past week end on Barkley. Took my wife out on the toon for some pleasure time and stuck a couple of rods in to fish a bit. I knew the bass were on the drops and after seeing a bunch of fish on a creek-mouth drop close to the ramp I stopped to make a few casts. Bad decision. Being close to the mouth (and the buoys) I had jet skis, ski boats, pontoons, cruisers, bass boats and all whizzing by us until a pontoon ran so close in front of me he actually ran over my line and cut me off. I can only hope my line wrapped his prop good and messes up his seals. What a absolute jerk!!! Good thing he didn't run like that in front of Pickerell or Koening or he might have gotten his toon shot all to pieces. Thank god for LBL because that's where we headed next.

But you did. As the name applies, I run a ocean going boat. 28 ft long 9'8" beam, and 10,000 lbs. when full of fluids. Its not the boat, its the person driving the boat. I have as much right with the boat I own to be on the lake as others. As I do my best to show courtsey to other boaters. The same can be said about bass boats, pontoons, jet ski's, and the amish, in there flat bottom boats flying thru the marinas. Just because Im in a " huge " boat, don't give them the right to buzz me either.

I take it you are referencing the fact you have a cabin cruiser, well goody gum drops for you. I already said I didn't mean to single anyone out therefore I won't do it again. If you are as courteous as you say in your wave maker why don't you start a class and show the other 85 to 90 percent of the people that own those things how to drive the **** things or get the #%^# off the lakes.

You cant teach common sense, no matter what type of boat your in. And just to let you know, I was that guy in the 14 ft jon boat at one time. So I know where your coming from.
