About 15 years ago we were down at Fishing Creek on Cumberland having a nice, lazy afternoon on our houseboat. A very large cabin cruiser came up the creek throwing a 4-5 ft. wake. My fishing boat ( with my dad in it ) was thrown all the way up the rail on the houseboat and my dad hit the side window of the houseboat cracking it from one end to the other. I took out my binoculars and wrote down the numbers and description of the large cabin cruiser. We went straight up to Lee's Ford in the small boat to find the water patrol officer who had gone by just a few minutes earlier. He took the numbers and came to look at our houseboat; went down the lake and found the larger vessel and cited the driver of the vessel. It was quite an effort to get the window fixed but everything was eventually taken care of thanks to the water patrol guy. I think of that episode everytime I hear of someone getting thrown on the bank by an irresponsiible boater. Many of them need the "heat" thrown to them!
