Going Bowfishin Tonight!!

Heading to the river for some bowfishing tonight, I'm feeling a little red so called the brother in law and we're headinig to shoot some fish. I will let those of you that care know how the river looks, the rain we got should not hurt the clarity any and I don't think the rain ne of us has gotten the river down here muddy. See Ya!!!!

We'll fishing was ok. Water would have been clear if there were not so many barges going up and down. There were much more than usual. Anyway we shot a lot with the largest being about 12 pounds. Went catfishing for about and hour and a half with the largest being about six poounds. Gl to all on your future river trips. Weather was awesome and got even cool especially the run back to the ramp.

What were you using for a light source? I've never tried bowfishing but I'm getting more and more interested in it every time I hear about it or see it done.

We run a small generator that runs 8 500watt bulbs. Shines up everything and when the generator runs out of gas it turns dark as @#$%. One tank runs almost an hour then we fill it up again and so on and so forth. Gl, I never hunt I just fish but this is a ball and we have been doing it for about 7 years or so.

what part of the river were you at i have tried a few time will lil luch. most of the time i head to rough and green. i run 4 500 watt halogens and a 2500 watt generator.

We go to barren a lot but the big ones are in the river. We go out of westport and head east away from major traffic. Dale Hollow in the spring can be crazy when they flood the coves and flats.
