Want to take family after July 4'th holiday but read (Barren State park website) beach is closed due to the low water. Is this true? I don't always trust the status reports on park websites so I would appreciate some first hand news. Thanks.

Since Barren is seven or eight feet below Summer pool right now, I would think that the web site report is probably correct and that the beach is unusable.

iwas over there a couple of weeks ago camping & it was closed due to low lake level.

I was at Barren Saturday. The lake is down at least 7 feet, and now that you've mentioned it, no one was at the beaches.

The beach IS closed and i done expect it open this year. Nolin state park is open and The beach is open

greens river state park beach was open sat when i was down there water dont look too low there.
