Going to Barren for the 2nd time in my life, usually fish at Nolin, or Rough River. Will be down there tommorow around 4:30 pm with my son, and we will probaly fish until dark. I know around sunset I will tie on a buzzbait, but can anyone give me any advice on what they are hitting, depth, general vicinity of some good fish. I would love for my son to catch a nice bass, and I think the chances are probaly better there than Nolin. I figure I will probaly fish some points, or drag a carolina rig around some structure if i can find some. Any help or general locations would be greatly appreciated. I will be launching from the State Dock area. Thanks

you have PM
I've only fished Barren 1 time in my life, but I'm willing to give you the info I have. I fished up along the Dam with a shad rap and my partner and I caught 3 fish on it, in the right hand corner there is a Fish Attractor that held some small fish back in May. Might produce some bigger ones now. Fished some ledges or I call Big Rock Walls and no luck. But others in the group did have luck. I tried everything, from Jigs to senko's to Buzz baits, lost a 4 lb fish at the boat on the Buzz bait. Overall that is as much as I know about Barren...Sorry I couldn't help you more. Good Luck and hope the son catches a nice one.
throw pop r's in the mornings then after that brush hogs and if you want a big bite go with jigs
Just saw this may be too late, but you've got a pm anyway. Headed to the lake myself.
