Nice site post Dizzle.
There is a chain hanging down on the wall. Pull chain once. Wait to enter locks until doors are all the way open and green light is on. DO NOT MAKE ANY WAKE! When in the lock tie off on a floating tie off{don't tie on the ladder!!] Wear your PFD No smoking When doors reopen wait till doors are all the way open and proceed out of the lock with no wake until you clear the farthest lock wall. Remember commercial traffic gets the rite of way leave plenty of time if fishing a tournament.
No smoking in the lock? Don't smoke but what is this world coming to? Is there some kind of hazard in there? Do they raise and lower you with gasoline instead of water, whats the deal with that?
The area is run by the Military and all area's they operate are a non-smoking area to them. So obey their rules, they could make your day going thru the locks mighty nasty.....![]()
Beleive it or not locks are considered confined spaces gas fumes can and have been a problem. Lock thru on a hot humid day you will not feel a breeze!
Just lettin you know that marklands little lock for pleasure boats is broken and you have to use the big barge lock but if there is any barges around you have to wait till there done (20 mins) and it is 3 bardges before a pleasure boat if theres three waiting.
The little lock is now working
