Guist Creek Report - Just back

There never seems to be much info. on Guist. So I thought I would give my report. It is a great small fishery. Not sure if many do not go there...or just try to keep it quiet.

Went early Tuesday morning. The bite was good until 10A.M. All fish came off the main lake in deeper water. Fish were holding in about 12ft - 15ft. on points and structure. From about 7 -10AM approximately 10 bass were caught using jigs, senko worms, and brushhogs. The biggest fish came off of jig. All largemouth...3.8lb, 2.6lb, 2.1lb, 1.4lb, and 1.2lb. Talked with another guy and he boated one over 5lbs and about 4 others around the 2lb range - bites were on a jig as well. Fished the creeks very little and never got bit! Stay on the main lake and fish deep structure. Good luck and have fun! It is a great smaller lake.

I fish it in the fall but that's it. It was good to see what works in the summer. Good report...

what kind of structure and what points? I have been a few times with no lucky. If you are looking out at the water on the boat ramp I always fish to the right.Any help would be greatful?

Nice to hear about someone doing well on Guist. I haven't been there as much as I'd like to this year, since my girlfriend had shoulder surgery. But I'll be out there this fall, and even winter, looking for a trophy hybrid.

You are heading up the creek. I have not ever had a hit that direction. I have only fished that lake 3 times...and it has always been in the summer time. I head out to the left main lake points. I positioned my boat in about 20-30ft. of water on the points and threw to the bank and worked my bait back to the boat. Most bites came at about 15ft. of water...halfway back to the boat. We did go up the creek the other day...never got a hit. Talked to another guy he said the same thing. Hope this helps.
