The lake is mostly deep rocky banks. I have tried everything it seems like, but have not been able to catch consitstent numbers and big fish.
Just moved back to KY after a 2 year hiatus in Hoosierville. Planning on spending a lot of time at Laurel from now on since it is closer than Dale and can run down and fish one night then back. Happily trade some information after I get some on the Brownies for Greenies. Never been on the lake but if it is deep clear and rocky then my bet is 20-40 feet deep points, humps and ledges using 8lb test fishing small jigs with trailers. We will see for I am CONSIDERING my first night visit to the lake this Friday night. Already studied the map and have about 30 spots to try right off the bat looking for some cover on the structure. C Rig to find it then jig to fish it will be my initial pattern this time of the year. My initial guess is fish it like Dale Hollow minus the grass pattern. I am told there is VERY LITTLE grass in Laurel, which is a shame, for Grass and Bass go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly. Plan on posting when I do go.
