Returned last night. Our group, 14 total, hit it hard. 50-80 fish per boat was pretty standard each day. Average fish was 1-3 pounds. My 2 biggest were 7.4 and 10.3 (Also broke off 2 I never saw and an 8+ came off right at the boat). Biggest overall in our group was 12.1.
Each day started with a Pop R or senko bite. After the sun was up the guides would put you on a worm or lizard bite that usually rocked! He would pull you up on a spot and you might catch 8-20 fish in 35-40 minutes. The afternoons were breezy and the clouds would thicken up. The deeper soft plastic bite was giving up good number and better quality. Another good afternoon bite came on Rat L Trap a few times. Bass would be on a 5-6' flat busting tilapia and shad. 1-4 pounders just crushing the trap.
Lake El Salto bass are amazing! Their strength just blows you away. 2 pounders feel like 5 pounders. The first 6-7 pounder you stick feels like the wall hanger you dream about. It's unreal how they wear you down over three full days.
What a trip! Angler's Inn @ Lake El Salto is THE BEST! See www.anglersinn.com for more info...

Sounds like I would be spoiled for life...... Glad you had a wonderful time and maybe you'll get back there again someday.
Sounds great! We could all use a Vacation like that. I did not visit the site but could you tell us your cost? Were the boats and rooms good or great? Thanks
Your killing me here at work, I'm glad you got into them, I would love to take that trip but WOW the price, ouch.
I booked the flight back in January. Lexington to Mazatlan was $685. Trip rates depend on who you book with and when you go. Keep an eye on the sites for specials.
Sounds great. I've always wanted to make a trip down there. I bet that water was steaming hot this time of year. Glad to hear you caught some good ones.
