Knuckledragger, we fished east of 68 last year which is right around the Clay Wildlife Area. There are some kentuckies in there but the ones we caught were dinks. There is some gravel in spots so they might turn on around dark but what I fished was too slow moving for Smallies. If you head up toward Clay City that is faster water, better for Smallies. We also fished that last year but the water was very low. The landowner was complaining about river otters eating the fish, said they would make a circle down the river, up a creek then cross country to start all over again. He said they were moved down from the hatchery and didn't think it was fair just to move them a little ways down the river. That is some really classic water but canoes work better in the riffles.
Thanks for the advice guys, I'll check both places out. Hopefully nothing gets stolen, but just to be safe I'll get my buddy to drive.
Hey, just wondering if you had any luck at Lair. I haven't fished there in a coupe of years. I used to have pretty good luck above and below the bridge but it seemed like it died off.
thanks
