    Going small in Summer heat

Guys, I have used a tactic for several summer on lakes (not moving water) that will almost always produce some bass. I'll share it.

On hot days, (I have to fish in the daytime some as some of you might as well) when bass arent hitting cranks, spinnerbaits, jigs or 6' worms or larger, go to smaller worms (4' or so) with a light bullet sinker (1/16) and a 2/0 hook on a light action rod with 6-8lb line. Bring it ALL the way back to the boat, very slow and try to stay in deeper water. Often, you will not feel the bass hit it, you will just see your line move very subtle. I have finished out many a limit on hot summer days when the traditional methods wont buy a bite in this way. Another classic that works like this but often is overlooked for flashier and more expensive baits is the lowly mr twister grub, usually white, fished on a 1/8 jig head. It can absolutely be the best producing bait in your box during the summer months. It is my hope you guys use these tactics and enjoy the same success I have.
