    Question T-ville Cats

Hey guys, need a little help here. I don't know much about them catfish, but in order to get out on the water and not bake the little bit of brain I have left, I have resorted to night fishing. Been trying the past couple of weeks catfishing. I've tried some stink bait and chicken livers. Haven't had much luck. I am new to going after catfish, so how about a little help from those who are familiar with them on Taylorsville. Should I been fishing deep water, shallow, channel edges, etc.? Should I be back in the creek arms or out on main lake points? Remember, I am going after them at night. Come on guys, give up some info. I know everyone is tight lipped when it comes to bassin' and somewhat on crappie. But catfish, come on and help out a poor frustrated fisherman. Just want to get my line stretched a few times until the dog days of summer are over.

What and where should I be doing to get some nice catfish in the boat? Also, has any one been catching any blues lately? I know they were stocked a few years ago. I caught several one afternoon last year while crappie fishing. All were small and released unharmed.

    Thanks

    Re: T-ville Cats

I too have sought this info. I tried a chicken liver the other night and didn't get one bite. I was fishing top of a channel edge, not one bite.
we did catch 2 keeper bass casting to stickups with soft plastic worms while waiting for catfish. That was a wierd night. Couldn't get a bluegill or catfish bite, but got keeper bass. May get the pontoon setup for trolling next/.
I haven't caught any catfish at t-ville in recent years, but haven't fished too serious. Hope you (and I) get more info.

    Re: T-ville Cats

Ok, guys I haven't fished for any cats at T-Ville....But I did come upon two guys and a gal fishing for them one night at T-Ville. They put in at Settlers Trace, went up towards Possum Ridge and fished in a cove there. They sat out in about 20 feet of water and fished shallow around 6 feet max they said. Had different poles out and scattered from 2 feet down to 6 feet deep. They were using chicken strips soaked in Strawberry Jello liquid. They put in t 9:30 pm and were coming off the water at 12:00 am, when I had quit for the night. They had both of their live wells full of channels and big blues around 4 lbs each. Biggest one was about 12 lbs.

So try the Strawberry Jello Liquid and soak that chicken, I guess you need to add more water than whats called for on the directions, so as that the jello doesn't get solid, but stays loose..... These guys swore by it, so give it a try.....

cut some chickens strips and put them in a zip lok and pour strawberry kool aid on them, plenty so it is real red, anise oil, whiskey,or just let it get rotten in the sun all works.the best luck at the ville is to fish the points at the mouths of the coves and fish 10ft or less.get some bluegills and use cut bait and you can save some catfish pieces for cut bait too.use a few rods with floats and a couple on bottom.bigger crappie minnows work well too.if you are going to fish for awhile chumm a little too..still try a little liver sometimes in summer for some reason it seems like it can be good then the next no bites at all.
i like the cut bait and chicken.many flavors work but strawberry seems to do best.
