Bereabasser, The quick answer is the observer "rides" with the angler and make sure all rules are followed and to verify the anglers catch for the day. The angler has the option to allow the observer to fish or not from the back of the boat. The observer doesn't pay the angler for gas or anything else. The observer will need his or her own lifevest. The meeting on Friday pairs anglers and observers for the weekend and goes over the rules and guidelines of the tournament.
