    Taylorsville Lake tailwaters

Went out to Taylorsville Lake tailwaters yesterday (Sunday). There was several people fishing, but none catching. I saw several catfish sneaking around in the shallows, but none would bite my lure. The tailwaters were alot shallower than I expected, I could see the bottom in some places.

    Anyone ever catch anything there?

Up until around the end of may i have caught alot of white bass and good size hybrids. i assume that they come up salt river and then run back down as the summer goes on because after may i dont catch them. other than that i have never had any luck there. My wife catches a ton of bluegill and crappie there when we go, usually she fishes with small jigs or rooster tails. G/L

i have done well there early in the year, even winter for whites hybrids and crappie.i usually go way on down river until the trails start tapering off.I would say it is fairly fished out this year, the lake hasn't been up enough to keep the river up therefore the fish aren't coming up as much and there aren't as many coming through the dam,if many really do.used to get a fw sauger but i havn't in a long time. The low water is really hurting the river fishing especially down this way in the beech and rolling fork, they were almost dry except for the pools and i didn't see many fish in them. They do much better when the water has been high in the previous fall and spring, when the salt has been high enough to keep them up.this year the salt looks like a lake every time you cross at sheperdsville.
