and if the test giver is good he can scare an innocent man into looking guilty as all get out to, one reason it is not allowed in court.
I was out on Taylorsville early today (Friday). I saw a couple of serious fishermen using buoy floats trying to catch fish. It made me wonder, are these guys trying to catch alot of bass in order to tie them up and cheat in the tournament tonight?
So let me understand this if I throw marker buoys in the water I'm preparing to CHEAT. I must be a cheater because my markers are it the ready all the time especially this time of year. And if they found some thing to mark at T-ville they are not cheaters they are pros and I hope somebody can tell me where the spot is.
There are people that will cheat no matter what and you can only do everything you can to control it. As stated before Locks keep honest people honest a Cheater/Thief will find a way. If they get careless they get caught. I know many of the people that fish the tourneys at T-ville and count many of them as Friends. I have not drawn a check on the TNT this year but I continue because I enjoy my Friends. All the tourneys run at T-ville are run by great people I have not fished the Friday nights but I have Friends that do and they comment on how well they are run. And I want to thank them all so Thanks Mike, Larry and the rest.

Ive taken a couple and by no means is it a ( scary ) situation. When you work hard for a win and do it honestly what is there to be nervous or scared about?
marker bouyeys = cheaters ????? Don't think so but do think that any sport that has $$$$$$ involved will bring out the worst in some thus resulting in this topic we are talking about...... think it ain't so???? better think again...tight lines....
No, of course using fishing buoys doesn't mean someone is a cheater. Thats a rediculous statement.
But knowing what we know (finding bass on strings), why would someone in a bassboat be fishing with buoys on the day of the tournament? Why isn't he at work? Why would he be trying to catch fish to eat if hes going to be in a tournament that night?
Did you ever think that maybe they were not fishing the tournament that night. Perhaps they are not tourney fishing at all, or they could be pre-fishing for a tourney at a later date.
How do you know that he is going to enter the tournament later that day? This could be his only day off, and just because a man has a buoy out doesnt mean he is catching Bass to eat, I have a spot that if your not right on it, your not catching anything in that area so I throw a marker out. Im not saying that cheaters arent out there but fishing with a marker out doesnt throw a red flag and make me start thinking of cheaters.
I want to clear something up... I think the majority of fishermen and women are honest, and that the cheaters are the exception. As for the guys fishing the day of the tournament, a night tournament, I will add that if you read a lot of fishing magazines, most of them will tell you that if you are fishing at night, you should use much of the day to familiarize yourself with the areas you will be fishing, and to look for hazards in the water. So it seems these guys simply could have been using the daylight to help them find underwater islands, and to mark them with their gps, and were simply learning the lay of the land, so to speak, of the underwater structure. We all call it practice.
Now for a little pyhscological stuff. It has proven that those who think the majority of people who are dishonest, or that the majority think a certain way, do so because they associate with those who demonstrate that thought process. This is often used in standardized testing to try to weed out those who the most possible dishonest employees.
BTW, these tests are in no way infallable.
From everything I read from those who post, and fish taylorsville and Renegade, I tend to think these are well run tournaments, who try to take all the precautions possible to keep it all above board.
BTW, the post about the guys fishng bouys, I don't know if these were the marker bouys that the fishermen dropped to mark a spot, or if they are the ones that are placed on the lake by the corps to give information, such as hazards, channels, or fish markers, etc. If it was the latter type, I happened to see a fishing show this week from out west, where the guys were talking about how fish will use the cables of these bouys as structure to school around, and suggest that fishermen not over look this obvious piece of structure.
I think the best advice is simply this, if you think you are fishing a dishonest tournament, club, or circuit, it is best to STOP, and not ever fish it again.
And remember, tieing the fish up is not the only way to cheat... many do so by simply getting their bait hung up, and before they destroy a possible hole, they pick up another pole and fish the structure. In most tournaments, that is a violation as you are only allowed to use one rod at a time. If the tournament has a rule saying you have to obey all state laws, and you have a 175 hp, and you change the decals to say 150, so you can get on restricted lakes, you are cheating, as that is against state laws. If you are fishing with an overpowered boat, you are cheating. S I guess the point is that I am asking everyone to consider all the possible ways to cheat. Tieing up the fish is only way it is possible to cheat. It gets all the attention, while there are so many other ways that people overlook.
Great fishing everyone.

My two cents...there are guys that will cheat for 2nd place money and not worry bout the polygraph. Cheaters should have their License revoked in all states for 5 yrs
