Trout Fishing is excellent. Excellent numbers and most are over 17 inches long.
Water temps have dropped to 57 degrees at Burkesville and to 47 at Whetstone. Plenty of oxygen in the water and the fish seem to be in good shape.
Walleye are also very good. River is a bit higher than it has been.
Emergency regs below Burkesville are still in effect.

Other than making the river harder to navigate the low water has been great for fishing this year.

What is the boat passage through sandbars like right now? I have a 17-foot deep-V aluminum with a 50HP. Could I put in at Burkesvile, go downriver and make it through the first rapids there by the bridge?

Haven't been in several weeks because of the low water and sure do miss the river.

I was at Cumberland pro outlet in Russell Springs and saw a newly developed picture of a 9.5 Brownie. The guy said he caught it wading the bank just down from the Dam.

He said the further away from people the better the fish. He hasn't noticed a slow down at all. also stated Walleye are on as well

Let me ask the question another way. I know folks are hesitant to say if you can get through the sandbars with a certain size boat several days before a trip. Too many changes possible between now and then.

I've fished C-river for years but never paid too much attention to the posted water levels. Just showed up and fished. Only shut down twice because of high water.

What water level is minimum for my type of boat to get past the sandbars (see type below)? Yesterday's posting had the level at 546 but today it's down to 544. I know sandbar depths vary, just looking for some input from the more experienced guys that keep an eye on the posted levels. Could save me a lot of travel time for the near future. Any input is much appreciated.
