SPRO all the way! I've had some really great luck in the past with the SPRO bronze eye. I typically use the green/yellow color combo. I used it on the grass matts down around Paris on Ky Lake last fall with great success. Some days the bass would inhale it, and other days they would just smack at it out of sheer anger - on days when they wouldn't take it, I'd revert to crawling a weightless lizard across the matt or slow working a Ribbit, letting it fall into the openings.
I know last year, the grass matts I fished at Paris weren't extremely dense and had lots and lots of openings in the matts, which made "walkin' the frog" very easy and an absolute blast to do. I haven't been down in that area very much this year, but I plan on going down there this weekend! Trust me, I've got several SPRO bronze eyes tied on and I can't wait to whack'em!![]()
