I agree it was ugly. I always looked at Luke as a stand up guy but after that i have changed my mind. BTW, mark and joe would have to keep me in the water so Luke didnt get hurt after that! LOL

Well got the chance to watch the Clausen match. None the less probably the most disappointed I've been in a long time. I never thought in my wildest dreams Luke would have pulled a stunt like that. Didn't really look like he and eberle had a good relationship to begin with. Is there any history between the two before this match.

OK, guys, I've got it on tape, but won't see it for a while, so I need you to fill me in. If you don't want to say what he did in the open for others who may not have seen it, please send it via PM.
Thanks!!!!

Well basically Luke showed that maybe his new fame that he has acheived went to his head. If you remember there was a post about a month ago on whether the story about luke shoving eberle in the water was possible. Well guess what. I never thought it possible but I really think ego showed its ugly head. Eberle has a fish on and luke has one on as well. Lukes gets his fish in runs to the back of the boat bites eberle's line into eberle reaches forward and SPLASH. Even Joe was disgusted with lukes actions and didn't know what to say. Luke tried to cover it up once he realized that he had made a horses rear out of himself in front of millions of people. Nothing sincere though. Really changed my view of him a lot. Thats the reason I was wondering if there was past history between the two. Neither one really liked the other from the start and I don't think I had ever seen luke verbally attack someone like he did eberle. Made the incident that he had with swindle last year look a lot better.
he claimed he fealt bad about what happened but early in the show he said "today is not the day to be nice". the fish brent lost was a good 4-4 1/2 pounder, it was a sorry situation joking or not. he should have fished the fourth quarter to give the guy a fighting chance but its the anglers choice to fish or not guess thats what the show is all about.
OK, I like Luke and think he's a great fisherman, but tonights show really showed a side of him never seen before. I hope he was just putting on an act for the camera, but with him being more worried about getting on the road for his next tourny showed no sportsmanship what so ever. I understand there is 50K on the line how ever if he was truely sorry he should have let Brent have control of the boat in the 4th and fished the back. It's one thing to talk smack to a buddy and something totally different to a "co-worker", let alone bite anyones line while landing a fish of any size. I don't know who he fishes against next but I hope they beat him bad. Hopefully the UMF doesn't continue down this road of crap!
I thought what he did was dissapointing as well but I wonder how much of the show we have been getting this year was worked up by the producers. Some of the things going on this year is crazy compaired to the last two. I wonder if the producers are trying to increase the ratings a little bit by have the guys do these new unthought of actions. Even what Nixon did who would have thought.
Just my thoughts

I use to really like Luke, espically when he whooped up on crybaby Gerald Swindle, but after last nights show, I lost all respect for the man. What the others have done is nothing compared to what Clausen did to that guy. It was inexcuable, that was the worst sportsmanship I have ever seen, he should of been d'qd.
Great link splitshot.....at least puts things in perspective a little bit
I agree, everyone should read and get the "whole picture" before taking a stance on Luke. I too was in shock at first, but until I learned of the "whole picture" and the events leading up to it, it started making sense in the fact that it was a joke that went too far and a matter of a misunderstanding. UMF is a fun and exciting show. The contestants are supposed to be loosened up and having fun, laughing, joking, and pranking. It's a serious show, but at the same time it's not. It's a different kind of fishing and a lot of fun among friends-give it a try some time with a friend on your favorite lake!
It may have been a joke that turned ugly. You know the ol saying " All fun and games till someone gets an eye put out". I was glad to see luke try to make things right but I still question his sincerity. I love the show and the format it is in. Nothing wrong with a little trash talking and prankin but something was up way before the falling in the lake incident.
