New Moon this month is the 12th and the full is the 28th. From my experiences at Dale, the time between the New and Full produces better fishing than the time between the Full and New. Not saying that fish can't be caught, just from what I found I like it from the New to the Full better.
I'm a scuba diver, and have dove a few spots on Dale Hollow. During the hot months, all the fish are down on the bottom right above the grass beds. I've seen alot of bluegill, crappie, and some bass. Most of the coves are relatively shallow, maxing out at 20 to 30 feet. Its the grassbeds that hold the vast majority of the fish.
I've also dove on the rocky shorelines. Those spots are nearly barren of fish. The shore just slants down into the dark abyss of the lake. However, while those spots don't have many fish, they are where I have seen the largest bass swimming. I saw two 5 pound bass just swimming in formation, I didn't even know they did that.
One more note, if you see a red flag with a white diagonal stripe, that means there are scuba divers in the area, so please dont hook them.
if you can fish it in the morning i would really suggest going back behind star point marina and throwin topwaters...alot of release fish right there and believe me theyll bite
