I have had the chance to see one and talk with the shimano rep about them. Let me also say that the main complaint i hear about the Chronarch 50mg is that it doens't have a big enough spool. the core 100mg has almost the exact same size spool. on the 50mg it is rated for 105yds of 10lb and the 100mg is 110yd of 10lb. It feels very nice, and looks real sleek, especially on their new ALL black Cumara rods. Although it does have bigger gears in it, and a different frame than the 50mg. Don't get me wrong it has many new exclusive features that make this reel incredible, it is just too bad that they didn't make the spool much bigger.
It is a pretty high dollar reel 349.99- 379.99, EXTREMELY LIGHT- the 6.2:1 reel only weighs 6.1 and the 7.0:1 weighs 6.7
Personally I'm more of a spinning reel fisherman, and the upgraded models of the stradic, sustain, and stella.... WOW! They also came out with a new reel to replace the old stradic called the Saros, and it is supposed to be nicer than the old Stradic.
For those stradic lovers out there, the old white ones are no more. Similar to how they did the Bantam curado last year. Better find em fast.
