Hey.........

Don't let the HOT, HOT weather deter you.

A buddy and I went to a local southern Indiana fishing spot and managed a rather GOOD day.

We arrived on the water by 6:00am, and immediately started catching some fish on jigs and flukes. After the sun came up, the fishing practically shut down.

We caught 4-5 fish by 9:00am, but then it all but stopped.

We decided to head to be back of the lake, where we found lily pads, and stringy weeds. Flying around the pads and weeds, were TONS of dragonflies. It was then, that I noticed the bass hammering these dragonflies. They were literally JUMPING out of the water to get the dragonflies.

We started throwing Zoom Horny Toads, flukes, and trick worms onto the matted grass, and started slaying the fish. I know I personally missed 10 or so fish.

By the end of the day..........2:00pm for us, we had boated 21 bass, probably missed as many, and had 3 over 3lbs and 1 over 4lbs.

The air temp was 97, water surface in the upper 80's, and heat index over 110, AND we had a GREAT day.

One thing..........if you're going to be out in the sun like this, MAKE sure you take enough water and gatorade, and definitely use sun screen.

Later,

Geo
