I agree, it should STAY!!!
At first I thought of it as an ad, but then as you said Jim, I realized that it was more an offering of an opportunity than an ad. And Jim, you know I cut you NO slack....LOL
Besides, the thread really has turned into some interesting questions as well as a great opportunity for a lot of people. If I had the money, I have to admit, I'd be calling you to get in on this trip myself. I think it would be a great adventure.
Good luck to you and all who join you.

Well it is looking bad for the Summer Heat Relief Tour.. I just read on AOL News that the Pavlof Volcano 500 miles southwest of Anchorage is about to ERUPT. This could mean that the Airport in Anchorage is closed for a while. It also could mean that the area is blanketed with ASH.. If I get there BEFORE the Volcano, I will try to bring back some Ash for each of you from the Eruption.. LOL..
NOW you really have a reason to go.. how many of you have ever seen or HEARD a Volcano Erupt?
Of course then there is the problem of what happens if there is a Sunami .. but not sure it is close enough to the Ocean to create one.. which would come up the river at the Kenai.
OR could it harm the Salmon Run ??
I guess I will find out.

I've been on the Big Island of Hawaii and watched lava rolling into the pacific, but never actually saw a big eruption. My brother was on Mt.St. Helens recently and brought back pictures, the devastation is still very obvious.
You can keep the Volcanoes, but I'll take the salmon run.
And of course one good volcanic eruption would put an end to Global Warming.. which Al Gore fails to tell anyone..I've been on the Big Island of Hawaii and watched lava rolling into the pacific, but never actually saw a big eruption. My brother was on Mt.St. Helens recently and brought back pictures, the devastation is still very obvious.

OH and this is not the hottest the earth has ever been...
Check out Glacial Archeology on Google.. You will get an article that talks about the current jump in archeological sites where glaciers once existed. Which means that there were people there and they got pushed out by an accumulation of snow and ice.. which means it was warmer at some time in the past..
Global Warming??
Heck look at all the Volcanic Activity in the Arctic Regions in Alaska? The melting of ice and glaciers in Alaska has as much to do with that as Global Warming..
A sad but insignificant truth ...Just my OPINION..
