yea i know about it, i wish they would come out with a smaller size. Do you feel it is a better topwater than the sammy? with it being a combination of two different topwater types, would it just have a different affect all together?

The gunfish has it's days for sure. Especially if you want a big commotion. I also agree that the 100 is the best overall size. I also like the 115 at certain lakes. Word of warning DON'T GET THE LIVE SAMMY. It is hard to walk and the action is not that great plus it's $20+.

Sammy...Tenn. shad color, is my choice. But I find that sammys are only good for clear water, like Dale Hallow, when it's cold...for big smallies!!!...But when you have stained water, like on the river...go to the buzz bait..or a splash-it! I'll never forget, when I won the 50 grand, in the big bass tournament; I had a sammy tied on. But when my partner Kevin had two huge blow-ups on his buzz bait...but they missed the hook, ....and I had zero strikes on my sammy...with about 15 casts, after Kevin's second blow-up..I got a good look at the smallie that missed his buzz bait...it was a trophy, right by the boat!! I immediatly dropped to my knees, bit off my sammy...tied on a buzz bait, slid on my Gary Yomamoto grub...and a trailer hook. Water was coffee color...current rolling...my first cast landed a 2.5 large mouth...my 4 cast caught a 5 pound smallmouth...Go figure. It was a 50 grand decisison to go with the buzz bait ...vs the Sammy. Im so glad I did..gee wizz what a move...could have wrote it up better!

yea i have looked on Luckys site, the smallest i saw was the 95 model, possibly 85. but the Sammy that i am using is still a few sizes below both of those. That thing is perfect where i fish, and even if they are somewhat on, they will eat that thing up. i also feel that 2 'Crafts' in the creek pack is perfect for right now. thanks though.

    Re: Sammy Colors?

    Hey guys,

I got a ghost lemon sammy for my birthday last year, and if you read my post about Barkely today, I tried throwing the sammy around all those busting big bass. I guess I just don't know how to fish a sammy. I had it on a Loomis Rod, a Shimano Japanese Reel (bought the combo from a friend). Taking that rod and reel into consideration with a Sammy and a tourney prepared bass boat, the fish should have jumped in the boat. Hmmmm, maybe if they had, we would have caught them. LOL

Anyone want to buy my Sammy?

I know what you mean when you say the fish should have jumped in the boat with all the gear we use. LOL. I've burned them up on that lake with that lure though. Fall is coming up soon and I'll be there in October. That's when it really gets good. In the spring and fall is when I think it works best out there. If it was me I would hang on to it atleast through October. You might change your mind about getting rid of it.

    Re: Sammy Colors?

Does the weighted tail on the Sammy's improve the performance other than casting? I fish the Sammy's often, when fish are really active on the top. However, on slower days (still getting blow-up's but no takers) I like the the still action of the Zara Spook a little better. They will float level on the pause, where the Sammy will float vertically.
