    Sammy Colors?

Thinking of purchasing one of the sammy lures. Due to the price, I will only be purchasing 1 to see if I will like the action and results.
    What color would you recommend?
I mainly fish Nolin, barren, rough and occasionally KY and Barkley!
    Thanks

Ghost minnow works great. The sammy is the best top water producer for me by a long shot and even a novice can walk them.

There are a few good colors I like for the sammy. My favorite all around color is the chartuese shad. For me it's caught alot of fish all over the place. American shad, and aurora black are also good. If your fishing KY or Barkley I've whacked em with the ghost pearl lemon color that Dave sometimes mentions in his fishing reports. My favorite dog walker though is the megabass giant dog-x.

the sammys are good in any of the shad colors and i have a bass color i like real well.I personally just can't see a lure being worth what they cost.it's plastic for god sake, only reason i have them is when my partner passed his wife gave me first pick for what i wanted,if you want, get you one but i will tell you i got some of the lews pencil plugs for 3.00 at bass pro and i have had as good a days with them as the sammy,i'm sure some will say no way but if i payed that for them i'd want to think there was nothing better too.
kinda like a loomis,or 50,000 boat is gonna make more fish bite..
    just my thoughts.

I felt the same way about Lucky Craft, until i used the sammy. I finally ponied up some moneys and got two. After an hours worth of fishing and a bunch of nice smallies i believe that it is the best hard bass bait i have ever used. Not saying that a zara puppy wouldn't have worked about the same. But That thing looked absolutely incredible and the fish agreed. MS American shad.... nice.

APB'S handmade walkers put'em to shame. That being said I do own a couple and they are good baits. I hate the price and I especially hate giving my money to the **** Japanese, sorry for the rant.

If you got to the Lucky Craft web site, and then go to items and topwaters when you click on the size sammy that you want there will be roughly 40 or so different colors for the baits. some are pretty wild and others just simply incredible. there is also an animated screen that shows you how the sammy works and how the fish feel about it. pretty nice. luckycraft.com

mhall, who makes the APB's? I've never heard of that or maybe I can't think of the acronym. Where could I find some?

If you're on one of Bill Dance's fishing ponds, it doesn't matter what you throw.... but above all, you got to throw something you have confidence with on these public waters.. tight lines

A little weight on the back of any zara spook or puppy you already have will make it act just like a sammy. But I can say I do have some way over priced sammys. Been there done that and learned from my mistakes.

    Hey fella's and Gals,

Just to let you all know that Bull Frog Creek is going out of Business and all Lures are 50 % off and they have a nice selection of Lucky Craft Baits. Everything else in the store is 25% off.....
Things are going fast in the store since the first time I was in the store.

It's ashame that another Tackle Store is folding up in the area. There aren't many more left and soon the only way to get anything will be to buy online. I'd rather buy local so that my money stays in the area I live in, plus it helps out the locals more in the long run.

APB is a moderator on this site. He really doesn't sell baits to the general public. He basically does it for a hobby and personal enjoyment.
