the stradic is 159.99, the replacement reel for the price range of the old stradic is called the Saros and it is 'supposed' to be nicer than the old stradic, i would probably have to agree. They bumped that price up to 129.99.

Cool, i'll check it out today. Thanks
The new Stradic feels awesome! I'm liking the Saros more just because of the cost.
i was not impressed at all with the saros at all I had my old stradic with me and it did not feel anywhere near as smooth.... the New stradic is very nice, but Rangerman there is no comparison between the two.....
...and no you can not have mine......

I just bought the new Stradic 1000 a few minutes ago from Jack at Backwaters for a new creekin' stick. It feels awesome...and the lip on the new spool is supposed to make it sling farther. He wouldn't give me a money back guarantee on that, but we shall see in the creek.
As a side note, the Saros was pretty dang slick too. I come a hair of buying it instead. The 1000 series Saros has the same spool as the 1000 series Stradic, but the frame on the Saros is actually a 750, so it's a touch smaller and a touch lighter. It was almost mine, but I went Stradic instead because it just felt a little better on the rod for some reason.
This new Stradic 1000 at 7.4 ounces, mated on a custom built 6'3" medium light creek stick that's light as a pin...oh man, look out. This dude is a feather in your hand.![]()
I just called my Allstate agent for an insurance policy on it...full coverage.
Brian,
I did get to hold of one of the 2500 series and that was very smooth, Steve was there and had one with him. I want to get another spinning reel to put on a new 7ft plus rod (maybe Cumara) but i'l wait and match them up in a few weeks.
