    Re: Cumberland weeds/grass

Not a bad idea at all. I personally feel that when Cumberalnd returns to it's normal levels that the lake will be red hot for a couple of years. Way back in the day it use to have a fair amount of buckbrush growing in it. I think alot of the buckbrush is beginning to grow in areas again, this is a good thing for the fish.

I was down there fishing over the weekend and I was having the same thoughts. Where we were fishing there was already alot of brush growing along all of the banks.

Striper fishing last week noticed all the greenery as well. it looks real nice. in some places it has gotten very thick already and it hasn't even been a full year... about 6 more its gonna look a whole lot different id say. personally im pretty excited about it.

I was hoping nobody would ask how I did. Actually the overall day was pretty good. We got down there about an hour before daylight, put in at Waitsboro. I was fishing a jig in about 25 ft of water just before the sun got out. I felt a good thump and set the hook into a freight train. After fighting her a while I got her up to the boat and I saw the biggest smallmouth I've ever hooked into. She flopped off right at the boat. Obviously that was the bad part. We fished till about noon and I caught several nice kentucky's and a 3lb+ largemouth. All of these came in 20+ ft deep on an omega football head jig. We mainly fished in the creeks real close to the main lake and deep water.
