There is a long gap between Dave Stewarts guiding ability and mine and no chance of the gap closing any time soon.

Elwood: All you have to do when that happens (back seater gets a big one on the first cast after you pull up on a spot) is net the fish, pat em on the shoulder and say: "See, this isn't all that hard is it"...and you will close that gap considerably...lol.

P.S. DON'T LOOK SURPRISED also helps.

What was so funny about the whole thing is that it reminded me of when you took me ledge fishing the first time and pulled up on the #1 ledge, you know the one, and said cast that way, I heave a C Rig and you are telling me how to work it on Cast #1, then the second cast I bring in the nice 3lber. Saturday morning it was me doing the pointing, and Cliff bringing in the 3-14 Smallie on the second cast with a jig then late Saturday night on the second cast with a C Rig he catches a nice spotted bass. Those are the only 2 comparisons that I can make between my ability to "Guide" versus yours. I have said it many times before on this site and will say it again, Dave Stewart is an Excellent Teacher and anyone that gets the chance to go with him will more than get his/her money's worth. First to admit that on the 3 trips with Dave that I took, we never got into the mother load, but I would not have learned what I do know and won 2 different tourneys at Ky Lake (not bad when you consider I have only fished 2 tourneys at Ky Lake) specifically on what Dave taught me. If you get a chance to go with Dave, TAKE IT. I learned a lot from Dave and Cliff said he learned a lot from me Saturday night on his first venture ledge fishing exclusively. Different lakes, KY Lake and Dale Hollow, and only time on the water will allow me to weed out which ledge is better than another at Dale Hollow. Find the structure break first, then find cover on these breaks and most likely fish will be holding there or will be there some time during the night. If they are pulling water all the better. C Rig, Big Jigs, Swim Baits, Heavy Spinnerbaits, Deep Crankbaits all will produce on these types of areas. Good Luck

Woody, you keep catching all these largemouths and you're gonna have to change the old handle to elnutGREENjaws! Thanks again for the lesson.

Did I mention that would never happen? Had a good time Hens, wish we could have landed a few more fish, either Green or Brown, I would have settled for a nice healthy Rock Bass just to say I hung something with gills.

    Nice report.
Let me now if you're going to be in Gtown next weekend. If so, we'll take that V bottom and run some creek for you to study on.
The North Fork got a nice drink of water. Hopefully by next weekend we'll get another,

My father in law just came back from the campground area by the Forks of the Elkhorn and tore up the smallmouth right by the cg. He has a 2 man bassboat and fished above the dam there and caught his limit 2 days in a row on smallies. Biggest went 17". Caught them on a pop-r and white curly tail 1/16oz jig. Also caught some nice crappie up to 11". Said it was his best time there in the last 3 years.
