I made it to Alaska and the fishing is GREAT.. Caught a Silver Salmon of about 10 pounds see it on the FRONT page and a Dolly Varden that was only about 2 pounds and had to go back in.
Highs in the Mid 70's...
Next year the Pink Salmon run and you can keep 6 and they are more numerous than the Silver Salmon which run at the same time. Halibut fishing is good to.. going out Sunday and will let you know how it goes.
If you are interested in a trip for King Salmon which run anywhere from 35 to 70 pounds with a world record of 97 caught right here on the Kenai River.
That run is from Mid May to July 31. I am planning a trip in late June and another for Silvers and Pinks in August during the HEAT wave of the summer.. so if you want to get out of that what.. 103 degree heat that Louisville Had today.. get ahold of me when I get back. You can do 3 guided trips for around $1800.00 and a Fly in for another $325 to a river with Salmon, and Bears and Moose Oh MY!

Hey Jim, I looked at the Funny Moose Lodge web page and read their info and it looks interesting. My wife and I might try it next summer. Looking forward to a full report. JoeB
