Going to Barren for some bass fishing, for a day...anybody got a fishing report from Barren...Are they in the grass big time? On ledges? Anybody got some exciting stuff to share?
Was there last weekend along with half the state it was sooo busy. Anyway went little while sat morning with one fish shallow. Went little in afternoon on sun and tried drops and points, one fish, went tiny bit mon morn in the light rain and tried again with no success. I consider barren a good bass lake but for me it sucked to high heaven. Maybe I'm just not as good as I think but others I talked to afterwards said the same thing.
hopefully with the end of the hoosier run, fishing will pick up and a little fresh water will get here in the form of rain. Night time is good during the heat and we are so far out of season normal temps it is crazy. I would try day break hit the rip rap along flats going in to drop offs and any structure you can find 10 inch worms on bottom cranks you can work slow and low in the water. Keep your eyes open for shap blowing up on top. and troll with in casting distance and drag a shad rap type bait below the bait fish the little bass have been coming in and cutting the shad and the keepers have been tagging the easy feed drooping down to them, watch you depth with the water as low as it is there are some stups just under the surface good luck and I hope I have not lead you the wrong way.
