Oh my, you guy's must be talkin about sh!t creek...been there done that...
Yep,wash my net out with dishsoap before i put that sucker in my teeth again.Hell,I threw it out once last week and had to let half of them out just to lift it in the boat,i use a 10 footer. They die fast this time of year though.
It's hard to explain how to throw a net with the written word. If you're around Conley Bottom on your trip, I will be happy to show you. My method probably is the best, but it's easy. Anyway if you are on this end of the lake, I'll be happy to help you if I can. You can find my contact info at www.conleystriper.com.
I like my method, a $20 bill and a freindly guide and I get to sleep in instead of catching bait![]()
I have plenty of $20 but no guide..LOL....
It would be nice to find someone who had fresh alewivem but the goal here is to find them first. I live in Louisvillem so fresh bait is difficult but a must
For keeping them cold dont use ice. The chems in it will kill the bait. The water to make ice is city water it will kill the shad. I fill up 20 oz or 2 litters up with water a freeze them, and they last longer then ice.
