    Aqua Vu

Having bought great depth finders (console & T/M) I am now trying to learn to recognize what I am seeing on the screens. So far I have not found a VCR/CD that explains what I am seeing. There are instructional VCR/CD's that tell how to use it but the manual does that. Okay, to the point. Now I am thinking of buying an Aqua-Vu DT-100 that I will operate under my T/M to see what the depth finder is showing. I probably will not be deeper than 30'. Any ideas if this will be of help here in KY? Has anyone tried this?

I dont own one but have used the quite a bit and they really are nice. But, one thing I've found is that they take away a lot of fishing time and really change your thoughts about fishing an area. What I mean by that is once you've seen what certain areas really look like, you may start passing up areas that dont look "as good" that you normally would fish if you had only seen them on a depth finder. Just my opinion though.

Borrow one from a friend, if you can, before you spend that kind of money. It will help you decifer what you are seeing on your screen versus what is really on the bottom. We are just like that, we have to see it to believe it. A few trips out fooling around with the camera and the fish finder at the same time and you should be all set. I did that recently and the camera just confirmed what the sonar was saying, hard botom, grass, bolders, no fish anywhere, LOL!

    Good luck!

Nope, never did, I even went down with scuba gear, no luck. Visibility was really poor below 45 ft. I'll try again when the water clears up a bit this winter. The camera worked great, but when it's that dark you don't really see anything until the lense practically bumps into it! And when it's not your camera, you don't want it bumping into things!!
