    SkipJack...Anyone?

Trying to find Skips, was out this morning on the Ohio and couldn't find any. I am in Radcliff, and am willing to drive between 40 or 50 Miles to find them.

If anyone can help please reply or send an email to me at

    Thanks in advance!

I saw a little kid catching some at Lock & Dam #1 on the KY today, throwing a casting net.

Timing is everything! You can catch them at the mouth of creeks, and around the banks, where water is comming into the river. Use a Sabiki rig and hunt for them just before dark.

I have been fishing Cannelton ****, more bait then you know what to do with. Caught 88.6lb blue cat last weekend in Aug 07 caught a bunch of 25-56 lb blues, alot of flatheads, and a few very few stripers. Use Sabiki rigs up next **** (right hand side) If you want some frozen ones I have plenty, they are sealed but they are still not as good as fresh bait. Im about 10-15 mins from you. 828-5820 ask for Chis, free. There are alot near Brandenburg also if you have a boat.

I but in at Brandenburg, run alittle bit up river give or take a mile, you will see a run off on your right hand side. Don,t try a cast net, the skips are to fast all you will get are gizzards, cast out sabiki rigs or six or so very small crappie jig out. You will see the little gizzards poping out of the water, throw into them because the skips will eat them and they chase them up to the top. As for this weekend i have to pass unless it is later in the evening on Sunday. The mouth of Otter creek has alot of them also. Gizzard shad works just as good as skip, as long as they are about 6 to 12 inches the bigger the better. I will use up a foot long shad. For getting gizzards a 8-10 foot cast net works great if you can throw one that big. A four foot will work but it is hard to find them with. I like a ten footer but it is hard on the muscles.
