Who told you that? And why do you expect the Shelbyville Industrial Foundation, which is basically just a Chamber of Commerce, to fix a private boat ramp? They don't own it. Besides, the problem is not lack of money, it's lack of water. I just got off the phone with Brad at Guist Creek Marina. They closed the ramp yesterday because the water is too low. There's a 3-foot rock pile, then a dropoff at the bottom of the ramp, so it's unsafe to launch from. Problem is, the portion of the ramp that needs worked on is still under several feet of water, so it can't be worked on unless it drops several more feet (which, given the fact that they pump 4.5 million gallons of water out of there every day, is not impossible). So, until we either get about 3 inches of rain to fill it up, or it drops a few more feet, there's nothing they can do. But if it does drop down enough, it WILL be fixed. And this is a quote straight from the source, not some vague "I've been told" reference.
