Hey all ,
Spent the week-end camping at Shakamak and did some fishing at Lake Lenape . The water is down like every where else I fished latley . Fished Sat. evening for crappie with no luck but there was a guy fishing in bass boat with a spider rig on the front who was slowly trolling and he caught some . We started fishing for bass and had more luck . Caught some on power worms aroung some stumps with weed beds . Went back out Sunday morning and only caught a few small bass again . The water temp was 78dg , sky was very clear . I dont think the crappie will turn on untill next month when the water temp gets down around 65dg . Shakamak has 3 lakes - Shakamak , Kickapoo & Lenape . Kickapoo is the biggest and has a lot of coves . Shakamak is the smallest but has most of the fishing piers and rental cabins . There was a new bath house/bathroom with showers { very nice when camping } and the camping spots are surrounded by trees which keeps them private which is also nice . The rates are good and there is a small town { Jasonville } with an IGA & gas station . A good time was had by all .
