I am not seeing any information about these regulation changes on the KDFW website. Their curren "Cumberland River Update" was posted back in June, when the size and number regulations was relaxed. Does anyone have a link to a new update? I read somewhere that a bunch of trout will be dumped in the river this fall. Like to know if this is all fact or rumor.
The info. is from a KDFWR news release and it also said of the stocking of more trout including 50K browns.
You mentioned KDFWR's web site. Have you seen the stocking info there? If not, here's the URL:I am not seeing any information about these regulation changes on the KDFW website. The Trout Stocking Schedule only shows information for the month, so right now all it shows is what they did in September. But it'll be updated early in October, with all the announced stockings posted there. Notice I specified "announced," because not all stockings of trout are announced ahead of time. Right now, what you'll probably find more informative than the actual schedule is the "2007 Trout Streams Classification" section: http://fw.ky.gov/troutclass.asp?lid=885&NavPath=C101C140
It explains the classification system and lists all of KY's streams by class, and shows what type(s) of stocking each receives, which populations "carry over," etc. But to answer your question, I'm sure that "a bunch of trout will be dumped in the river this fall," just like every other fall, issues with the drawdown notwithstanding.
Is Hatchery Creek still open and fishable? I want to head down soon to take my daughter and her friend trout fishing. Thanks
I'll be down there trout fishing (more like relaxing) next week so thanks for the update...this is what I do for vacation..go fishing...lol.
I would be glad to help you catch some Stripers from the lake while you are in my home water's area.

I appreciate the offer but I will be tied up hanging out with about 50 guys at this gathering. We have been doing it for 20 years now. I normally don't even wet a line much anymore when I am there now. I just visit with the guys and since I kind of oversee the gathering I get tied up getting things organized and what little time I have free I just like to visit with my old friends and family.I would be glad to help you catch some Stripers from the lake while you are in my home water's area.
