    DR JUICE!!!!
I was in the store from 9 am until 2:20 PM and thought I had seen everything in the store. I know my legs were hurting from all the walking around that I did.

I'll be back there soon and pick up some Dr Juice. I must have missed it.

I found the Yum Wooly Beaver tails and some Berkley PowerBait Sparkle Nibbles in Chartreuse color. I wanted to find those baits for a long time.

I'll check out the bait area again for that Dr Juice. My supply has literally dried up. All the liquid in the plastic container had dried up. I had to add some Cod Liver Oil to the bottle to get some juice back out of it.

I read a story about Dr Juice in the Outdoor Life Magazine many years ago. I think I still have that copy of the magazine but it's in among about three years of Outdoor Life Magazines that I saved. It would take me a few hours to go though all those magazine to find that article. At one time I was trying to copy it with my scanner but the Triple Column print didn't work very well with my scanner program. I could not get the same format on the printouts. I wish that they would make a character recognition software that really worked on those old magazine articles. I would love to copy a lot of them and put them on the net for others to see.

Once copy of fishing facts magazine has a 4 or 5 page discussion on how sonar works and everyone who fishes and uses a depth finder should read that article.

    Moose ,
The Dr. Juice was with all the other scent products - about the 5th or 6th aisle from the rod & reel combo's . It was on the very bottom shelf and hard to see . It is in a good sized flat type plastic bottle which is in a zip lock bag . Thats the first time Ive seen a bottled scent product sold in a zip bag . I think I may slip out to my favorite honey hole and give it a try tomorrow . Wish me luck !

    Hey Moose,

Does your scanner software have the ability to scan the aritcle as a jpg file format? If so, you can scan it that way, and save it. My scanner, I can scan to an adobe file, which is a very expensive program to buy, or an image, or a document. I've found the best is to scan as an image because you only need 72 dpi to properly display on computer screens, and that is also the quality of a fax.

Just a few thoughts that may help out.

I can't wait to get over to E'ville and check out the store. I am hoping to fish a tournament this weekend, so I guess I'll wait until around Tuesday or maybe Wednesday to make it over there.

I'm pumped about the gun section I read about. I love to collect guns. I have several antiques handed down through the family and would really like to get a few more that I can take shooting.

OK Danny I'll give that a try. I have a HP Legal Paper sized scanner and the software that came from HP is limited in what it can do. I also have a copy of Paint Shop Pro 9 which allows me to scan in pictures into my computer. So I could try using PSP9 to do that

You will love the gun collection here at the new store. Both new and used guns are on display. I saw a nice Remington Model 870 Wingmaster that was sitting in the used section that sold for about 250 bucks. And there are new camo Remington 870 magnums along with some Remingtion 1100 or something like that automatics. I was just focuing on the Remington 870s since I use to have one of them and was looking for another one. Right now I am borrowing my friends 870 for this hunting season but I would like to buy my own again someday.

I spend about 4 hours in the store and was talking to someone 3 hours out of the four. LOL The guy that runs the fishing dept and I did a lot of talking and we both learned a lot of new things. He knew where everthing was located and helped me find a lot of stuff I was looking for.

I'll still have to drive up to the BPS store near Clarkville, IN to find my drift master or tite Loc rod holders. A fishing buddy of mine bought some of them at that store but heck he lives just 10 minute from the BPS store up there.

They also have a lot of clothing in the store both for men and women. Mostly outdoors type clothing for hiking and camping or hunting and fishing.

I saw some nice rain suits that were called Hydroproof. I priced the bigs and they were listed at just under 80 bucks. With the matching Parka they would make a nice light weigth to medium rain suit.

I was going to take some pictures with my cell phone but that thing would not do any justice to the store since it's an el cheapo 1 mpixel camera and the pictures are not sharp at all. I did manage to take one picture of a big Crappie that was mounted on the wall. I think that may have turned out pretty good. The store has lots of animals that have been mounted and hung on the walls. Coyotes, Deer heads and other wild animals that went to the taxidermists.

    Re: Gander Mtn sale

Thanks for the heads up about the mounted animals.... LOL. My wife is totally against any hunting or killing of animals. She is even starting to tilt toward me NOT fishing. I think she just thinks that is a battle best left until I am too old to fish...LMAO

I went to the website for Gander Mtn. and they won't let you browse the merchandise like Cabelas and BassProShops do.

I am looking for two things gun related. I have a 357 mag. pistol, with holster, but I want an old west style gun belt to put it on. They have them at Cabelas, but I won't order one. I want to try it on before spending the money. I also want a lever action 357 mag, so I am only carrying one size ammo. We have a huge farm, lots of trespassers, coyotes, wild dogs, and a few rattlers, and lots of copper heads, and even more beavers damming up our lakes. I have a Remington Modle 94 30-30 that I've been using on the Beavers. My father-in-law prefers my 22 caliber, but I think that will just wound a beaver. I know the 30-30 stops them in their tracks. But since Remington went out of their rifle business, I am looking for the 357 in some other make, I guess, or a used one if I can find it. Whitikers outside of Owensboro has something I think I want, but a guy is trying to start a gun shop here. He had someone lined up to bring in 100 or so Remington lever action rifles to sell, but the guy backed out, or so I was just told. Uncle Lee's has a 357 mag. made by Henry with the Octogon barrel, but it loads like my 22, and I don't really like that. I figure for $800, which is what they want, I think it should be just like I want it. LOL

As for that Rem. 870, isn't that a shotgun? I think I have a 12 guage 870. I have about 4 shout guns and I think the one I believe to be an 870 is a pump, and holds about 6 shells, and one in the chamber. I know if I ever hunted, I'd have to plug it.

    Re: Gander Mtn sale

I thought the same thing about the Gander Mountain Store's Web site. It's basically non existent. I talked to one of the guys at the new store who worked in the fishing dept and he said they are working on developing a new web site and I said that would be great. Businesses these days all need a good web site that shows the catalog of all their items. Hopefully they will continue to work on this and get one going

I took my Remington Model 660 222 into the gunsmith today and he's going to be putting on a new trigger for me. I was talking to the guys that worked in the gun area and they said that they have had a lot of requests for those lever action rifles in the last two days.

As for the holsters, they have a good selection of pistol holsters in the store. My neighbor and I were there today and my neighbor was looking at one of the smaller glocks that they sell. He and I were both looking at their holsters for that small glock. It was the #27 glock and in 40 cal. He's on the sheriffs dept and wanted a smaller gun for work and play. I saw some nice leather holsters.

The 870 is Remington's Pump Shotgun. They sold about 6 million of them over the last 30 years. It's a very popular shotgun. There are several versions of the 870 sold today. From the Express to the Magnum. And yes they hold about 5 or 6 rounds. But you can put a plug in them easily and get into compliance with the 3 round rule for waterfowl hunting.

I think that gun will shoot the 3 1/2" shells down to the 2 3/4" shells which I still have a few boxes of from the old days when I use to reload shotgun shells.

You should ask them about getting you one of them lever action rifles. They are pretty much in demand now that IN has allowed some rifles to be used for deer hunting. But you have to use the less powerful cartridges with them while deer hunting.

I saw a nice Savage in 243 caliber today and also a Remington 700 XXXX something in high caliber. I think it was a 243 also. That I was told is a very flat shooting rifle that would take care of them coyotes for you

I am getting setup to hunt coyotes this fall myself. Never really did it before successfully. But I have been working on the equipment to get the job done. From cover scents to blinds to getting the digital calls on my mp3 player. I even got a cheap caller with a remote setup.

I been reading a lot about predator hunting lately and trying to learn as much as I can. This spring I called in two coyotes and was watching them with my binoculars.

From what I hear tell a lot of game is being taken by the local coyotes. From ground hogs to the neighbors cat. They will go after little dogs as well. Lots of the local ranchers will put a Donkey out in the pasture with the sheep or get a big guard dog to try to keep the Alpha Male yotes away from their flocks. If you get one sheep killed it's usually because the nearby group's big male has developed a taste for lamb or new born calves.

Yotes are very territorial and if you kill the big male of the territory it will usually stop the farm animal predation for a short while. Until a new yote takes over that territory and discovers the farm animals.

I am told that Yotes are some of the smartest animals and they they are very hard to hunt. Especially if they are educated and have been around for more than one or two seasons.

You can get traps at the new Gander Mountain Store and catch those beavers. I saw all sizes and kind of animal traps from the leg traps to snares to live trap cages.

Hey Bassmanic1: I found the Dr Juice. Man they are selling that stuff in huge containers these days. Back when it first came out I bought it in tiny plastic bottles and It think each one had less than a few grams of the Dr Juice in it. Now they sell big huge bottles of the stuff. I picked up a bottle of the panfish and crappie spray type.
