I hardly ever see any tournaments that have small entry fees.

Now I do see some NO FEE = Free Tournaments where it's sponsored by Advertising and giving away free goods for advertising. Sponsors get recognition and get to show off their goods.

But the concept of a father/son or daughter team competing against other fathers/sons & or daughters sounds like a good idea to me.

I use to have a lot of fun fishing with my dad. I am sure that many of the guys take the kids out from time to time. But I never heard about them taking the kids to a tournament.

Now Crappie USA has a kids event at the weight in docks and things like that.

Would it be good to see this type of tournament develop? After all we need to teach the kids about fishing and good sportsman ship .
Hey Moose1am, i agree with you a 100%, my son is 14, and is by far my favorite fishing buddy, we spend a lot of quality time together on the water, and it really helps us stay close. A father son/daughter tournament would be great for the kids, my son is determined to become the next Timmy Horton, and fish the tournament for a living. He is not going to get there with me teaching him, but if i can get him in some competitive fishing tournaments, hopefully he can gain more knowledge than he is getting from me, still havent figured out what a ledge is yet, been trying for two years. Seems like someone would start a small circuit like that, just to get the kids involved in the outdoors more, and competitive fishing.

There must be more parents out there like you that want to do this. The hard part is getting somone dedicated enough to help set that up.

Het wishin. The KBFN which is B.A.S.S afiliated, has an outstanding youth program,Check them out, they have a nice setup and professionlly ran. The two of the past three BASS youth world champs have come from KY ck us out the website is kybassnation.com. Also the Green River Bass club is a great team circut club, I have fished it as an alt, and they are very well ran Buy if your son is set on wanting to be a pro someday, the KBFN youth circut is the way to start him off along with some father/son team events.
