    Fishrgurl,
A little off topic but i know you have kept up with Cedar more than i have and i was wondering was there any talk ---ever--- about making Cedar a trolling motor only lake? Motor restriction lake? Just curious because the other thread on here made me wonder what other states have done to get a Trophy Lake really going so i checked out Lake Dixon in California and what has been done there to achieve the results. I for one could handle tighter restrictions on the lake in addition to enforcing the fishing laws.

I think there was talk of a HP restriction before it opened, but that was shot down for whatever reason.

I think it's a little big for a trolling motor only lake, but then again it does have 3 launch ramps, so maybe.

Other than that, I haven't heard anything other than that short article about dropping the lake and a quick mention on the Strader show last week about the same thing.

Honestly, there are probably others much more knowledgeable than me about this lake. I live farther away from it than I used to even though it would probably be close to my first choice if I ever had time to go fishing anymore..

That was the limit that they DIDN'T put into effect.

OK here it is--This is what i think is going to happen at Cedar this draw down is to kill off some shad--i THINK they are hoping for another freeze like last winter that will kill a lot but not enough and get rid of some small bait fish---Now for the motor speed i can see a no wake for the entire lake coming soon--Its going to happen put it in the bank you heard it here lol. It won, t be long i will be hitting Cedar soon i have gave them bigguns long enough to get their sore mouths to heal up lol GL to us all

I'm all for electric motors only... Bring it on and I'll vote for it for crying out loud. The lake level is about a foot or better down from last thursday. I have a buddy that lives 4 miles from the lake check on it for me every 7 days. It is dropping..

OK, I bet I'm not the only one with this question, so I'll go ahead and ask. How would a HP limit help the fishing? If what I keep hearing is true (and I haven't been there enough to see it for myself) about the short fish walking out of CC then that is what needs to be addressed. I'm know I'm missing something here?

My thought was either limit the HP as other lakes around the country have done in order to create a Trophy fishery which might help keep the traffic down and or go to a trolling motor only lake. I know these are not popular ideas but i was looking into some other lakes and it seems that it takes extreme measures at times...especially on small waters.
Lakes in Florida have done this and California as well. It would be awesome in my opinion but i don't think it would ever happen on Cedar since the whole idea is to get as many boats on the lake as possible in order to help the local economy. JMO
