I have not caught a Bass over 3.5lb but i do have one of each that would go that much. the Smallie and Largey were out of creeks. The Spot was out of Cumberland. As of now my bass fishing is done in water up to my belly button, and i will take 2-3# out of a flow any day.
Skie- 39" 18# KY river
Striper- 33" 15# Lake Cumberland
Hybrid- 23" 7.5# Dix river
Looks like if you want a pb largemouth, head to Kentucky, or Green, want a pb smallie head to Dale, Kentucky's are everywhere, but Nolin and Ky. Lake seem to be the best.
LG Mouth- 11.3 small watershed in Monroe Co, caught in late May 04, on finesese tackle.
Smallie- 7.5 same lake as above, jig and pig early March, very windy and snowing.
Ky bass- a little over 5. Skaggs Creek, Barren. Early Spring. Rapala.
Hybrid. over 14 Barren ultra lite while white bass fishing, at the spillway.
Also in the same small lake as above they found one over 12 floating, it had a jig and pig in it's throat, I broke on off in the area they found it in a week before, actally the same day I caught the big smallie there. It kills me to know I might have killed a big fish like that, all other,s were released alive, as all big mama's need to be released.
