But I live alot closer to T-ville now so I usually end up over there. So anyone who fishes T-ville in the summer gets use to drive by wakes that knock you out of your boat. I've never had that problem at CC. If anything, and I think somebody else has already said this, I would leave the main lake alone and start a no wake zone somewhere around the tracks and into the main creeks. Just my 2 cents, which probably ain't worth that, LOL...
You hit the nail on the head!! Last time I was there I was fishing the tracks and several people approached on plane then dropped down and crused by making 2-3 foot wake, reminding me of T-ville, when it would have been better on us both of us if they stayed on plane. I'm all for no wake on the whole lake but 100 yards from the tracks on back would be best. JMHO

Not long at all. I was just directing that to the previous poster who seemed to suggest that it was better to navigate through the trees using the motor.

I am for idle speed only and have been since this lake opened up. It is insane to have boats running full speed in such a small lake. From the very beginning I thought the state should limit because if you want a peaceful fishing lake it is the only way to go. This lake will never be an enjoyable lake to fish unless restrictions are passed to allow the fish come the banks and fishersmen be able to relax without being thrown out of the boat. Everyone better learn to fish deeper if restrictions are not considered. Where is common sence these days. Why do we think we must be in a new place in a moments notice. Slow down and fish slower. You may just catch more fish, and the lake may become a friendlier place to fish. Most people fish for relaxation.

Most of the time I'm fishing it from a boat that I have to paddle. It's not the end of the world if you can't fly down the lake at top speed.

The few times I have been on this lake the boat traffic awful. I don't mind competing with fisherman for fishing spots. But what I noticed was the speed of which boats were traveling. I am no expert on this lake but to me this lake was created to be fished not playing on the lake. I fish many small lake that are trolling motor only. I would not have a problem fishing this lake the same way but it is really too big to for that. They need to just put idle only on the lake or a speed limit. Which the latter would be hard to police.
The perfect example of what I say was that on the main ramp by the dam. We saw a guy that was going to buy a bass boat. He was testing it out in that area of the lake. Back and forth he went while we stayed hung up in the trees the whole time.

I would rather see idle or speed limit but if that could not happen I would rather have trolling motor only than th way it is now.

Negative on the trolling motor only deal, I could live with No Wake. But who knows, if it went trolling motor only it would encourage some people to find another lake. That might be a good thing as the lake is overfished.

This lake is different from Rough, Taylorsville or Nolin. It was created for one purpose and that was a trophy fishing lake. All those guys that think they are in the Bass Masters Classic and drive their rigs at 70 MPH everywhere they go are the problem. It is a danger to everyone who fishes when they skid sideways across the water in less than 100 feet from another boat. I have seen this done at Rough (which is the worse I think) , nolin and Taylorsville but you would expect it and usually happens in more open water than you find at Cedar Creek. To me its not about having a comfortable day on the lake but more about safety. You are always only as safe as the experience of the other boater and when they are flying around a small lake at 70 mph it makes me more nervous. I went to Rough this past weekend and the water is way down. Creating tight spots to run thru. In my opinion to respect the other fisherman I idled through those spots. But I seen guys flying through on plane. I understand that some people think it is best to do that than to slow down and create more wake but this is a serious safety hazard. Nothing will be done until someone gets killed.
