Sounds a bit better. I would go for that. Are they still pulling the lake? Bass bite still slow?It is a good lake in the fall for panfish. there have been some bigger crappie caught this year, bluegill and cats have been fair to good all summer. This time of year the Redear sunfish get fiesty and they are in that lake very big. 10-12" is common. popeye with a wax worm (if you can find any) will do wonders. deep bobber or no bobber will be fine depending on how deep they are.
I've been out there a couple of times this year looking for those shellcracker and also have read some of the reports, but have yet to catch anything but small bluegill, shellcracker and very small crappie (5-7 inches on the crappie) for the last three years. Those reports are originating from the baitshop owner BTW, so I generally take them with a grain of salt and head on to other lakes until something (panfish) is large enough to catch there.
