Put in at Moutadier early, fished a buzzbait around the rocks right around the ramp, caught a couple, one slot, and a 10" runt. Sun up ran down to Brier Creek, started in back, and worked our way out, threw the new big eye shad rattletrap by strike king, sexy shad, and hammered them for a couple of hours, nothing huge, probaly 2lbs biggest, but caught a ton of them. When the bite quit, went to the other side, and started fishing a jig around the deep bank with the rock, caught a couple decent ones, son had a lot of hits, missed most, but all in all, was a very good day. One thing I noticed, every fish I caught was the prettiest bass I have seen in a long time, every one had the dark dark stripes on them, and all were fat and healthy. All rattletrap fish were shallow, and they all hammered the rattletrap.

I was there Sun. put in at Dog Creek and went up towards rock creek, around the big island. Catfish and bluegill were pestering me to death. After sundown the river channel came alive with baitfish. Flipping and slapping everywhere, I got so excited I couldn't hardly stand it! Fish were showing up suspended below all this bait, but as you said, would not bite a thing. Stayed out there a couple hours later than I planned to, just couldn't get myself away from all the action. Was a great day/ night to be on the lake. Nothing remarkable caught, and nothing after the minnows came up.
oops, Wishiwasfishn never said anything about the fish not biting under the baitfish. Guess it was only me![]()
