Young man drowns in Otter Pit near Evansville, IN

Just a reminder to wear your life jackets when out fishing. Especially this time of the year.

We lost a 22 year old young man today when his fishing boat overturned.

Waterfowl hunting season will be upon us soon and there will be duck hunters on this lake in the next month. The water will be much colder than and they will be dressed in bulkly clothing.

I am going to skip fishing this winter as they don't allow anyone to fish in these pits after the late water fowl hunting season starts.

Hate to hear about something so tragic happening at a favorite fishing hole . I have just been watching Fox 44 news at noon and they didnt say anything about it and WFIE web site has the accident happening at Blue Grass lake , so much for the facts . Moose is right that if you are a poor swimmer or the water is on the cool side to wear your PFD . The Mustang inflatable PFD are really nice , you dont even know you have it on . I just cant get over the fact that someone could drown in such a small pit . My famailys and my prayers goes out to this young mans famialy and friends .
