Well made it back to cicvilization this evening. Unfortunatly not a lot to show for the for days I was down there. First day 35 mph hour winds kept us off the lake. Did however manage to see about 5,000 ducks or so on the lake. Go out on day two and managed 3 crappie. Rough fishing to say the least. Water had dropped from mid 70's to a cool crisp 56 degrees and to say the least the fish were in shock as weel as every thing else. Did fish a third day with several bites, a white bass and a drum. Weather was just not cooperating with us at all which is usually my luck but a really nice place to go. Friendly folks, nice accomadations and good food to go along with it. Definatly plan on going back in maybe May or June. Fishing should be a lot better then. Only thing I regret is that we missed the strike king pros down there the weekend before. Kevin Van Dam, Greg Hackney, Mark Menendez, and a few others were down there and it would have been nice to have seen them. Again as always, a week late.
I feel your pain. I went in April (per Bill Dance) two different years and had the same conditions and results you did both years. I wonder what the magical week (maybe day) is for this lake. Used my own boat the first time and came back a jumble of burnt nerve endings. lol
