Hey all! Thanks for having me here in the forum. I have a question for all the KY locals, though. I heard that Guist Creek Lake had 24 hr. bank access, is that true? I haven't fished down there before and since I don't own a boat, I'm looking for somewhere that I can fish all night for catfish from the bank. Any help is greatly appreciated!

On the other side? Do you mean on the right side of the bridge, or do you mean the other side of the body of water? I don't quite understand. The disadvantages of being a visual learner... hahahaha
As you cross the bridge (from the direction of the high school) if you pull over to the right and park (as many people do) you can walk down to fish that flat. There is also a old road bed that goes through there and i have seen some nice cats caught there during the day.
If you went to the left once you crossed the bridge and found your way down to the water there is a small cove and deeper water right there as well. I have seen people on both sides of the lake around the bridge.Hope this helps.
Brando, are you fishin for cats to eat??? if not head to the Ohio and catch a mess of everything...and alot bigger cats, except for bullheads I think Guist has the state record for them at around 5#s and did someone already catch the white cat record the KFWD said they shocked up out there? Anyway it's real easy to find an overnight spot on the river...Good luck and welcome to the board...RR12
Yes, I do mean to eat. I know a lot of people that go to the Ohio and catch these monster cats (which I will do here shortly). But for right now, I'm just looking for dinner.
Guist creek, Nightcrawler and chicken liver, egg wash and breading, BAM....dinner...
I used to work in Shelbyville and know a couple of guys that have houses on Guist. They catch PLENTY of cats using nightcrawlers soaked in Strawberry Koolaid. I am not a Cat fisherman but more than one of these guys said it worked. You may give it a try.
Great to see you posting again my friend. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
