Darn, to bad some of you Louisville fisherman don't live nearer my area.
Been watching the weather forecast, which looks good for me and plan on launching out of Newburgh tomorrow (Thursday Nov 8) as soon as the light is safe, around 5:45 am. Forecast calls for temperatures of 35 in the am and mostly cloudy with winds from S at 6 mph. Temperature will increase to 55 by noon with partly cloudy skies and winds SSW at 16 mph.
I will have an open seat available if anyone is interested. Just send me a PM or email with your phone number by 8:00 pm this evening. Also, I may go out again on Saturday or Sunday.
I will be fishing out of a Blue/Tan Lund 1700 Explorer SS, Crappie Edition. Say hello if you see me on the river and we can swap fish tails.

Gary,
Did I talk to you a few weeks ago at Wolf Creek Dam? I was in the giant gree kayak.
Steve
Well I'll see you down there then, congrats on the retirement.
Steve
21 years, 8 months and 4 days 'til retirement! Can't wait.
Hey Boone, PM me and we can talk
One more thing i would like to add about fishing around the dams for anything is if you dont know it well you can tear up your boat fast. There are alot of rocks and shallow areas you cannot see.Got to be real carefull,a damaged lower unit or puncture in your boat can ruin your day.
Goods words of wisdom. Your might want to start a thread on boater safety, near misses, if I had it to do over again, etc.One more thing i would like to add about fishing around the dams for anything is if you dont know it well you can tear up your boat fast. There are alot of rocks and shallow areas you cannot see.Got to be real carefull,a damaged lowe r unit or puncture in your boat can ruin your day.

I sent you a PM.

Had a GREAT DAY Thursday on the river at Newburgh; my first sauger fishing trip this year. Weather was great with mostly cloudy skies until 10:00 am when it started clearing and the sun came out. Sauger bite was slow, but steady. Fished for about 4 1/2 hours using minows on a 3-way rig. Came home with my limit and hosted a fish fry that night; good-good-good. Best fish was 17", 1 1/2 lbs.Darn, to bad some of you Louisville fisherman don't live nearer my area.

Most were in the 14 to 15 1/2 range.
I estimated there were about 15 boats on the water and most were jigging minors, with a few jigging spoons.
The Ohio takes it's share of tackel and I certainly paid my dues Thursday. Just finished rigging my rods and my brother in law and I plan on going again tomorrow morning .
PS: Still looking for Fishing Partners.
