Ok Guys Just got back from Laurel. SLOW SLOW SLOW... Oh Yea did I mention Slow. Water temps ranged from 53.2- 54.6 in the mourning and then raised to 55-56. put in at holly bay( if lake drops anymore you will not be able to launch here) and It was REALLY FOGGY. Went to my first spot that produced some good fish last year on fnf and had one pull down right off the bat. Got too excited ( first fnf pulldown of the year) and missed the fish. After that I never got another bite until 2:00 pm. Caught about a 3lb spot on a shad trolling behind the boat. Other than the 3lb spot we caught one more little smallmouth and thats it. Hard fishing, thats the only way I know how to describe it.lol. We found plenty of bass, bass are in about 30- 50 ft of water suspended in the creeks and main lake. We figured this out by The Aqua View Camera. There are some hogs swimmin around out there. A couple of times I felt like trying to snag one.lol My best advice to give to you guys is find a school and stay on them with shad. It is still 2 early for fnf, I jumped the gun on it guys I couldnt wait anymore. I just had to get out there and do it, but it is right upon us. A couple more alberta clippers and it will be on.
Good luck to everyone,
Greg Stacy
