I have never been down there to see below the dam. Is it deep enough for a boat or is it wading and shore fishing?
A SMALL boat..............MAX would be 17ft, aluminum, I'd think but I've seen people put glass boats in the last few months.........EARLY and LATE, when they are generating water......otherwise it is TOUGH.
I have a 14ft v hull that I setup JUST for fishing the river. It works quite well, and I've only had a couple problems.
This time of year, most people have been driving down the ramp, and actually veering left or right off the END of the ramp and using the riverbank to load/unload........The end of the ramp has a HUGE dropoff, and a smaller boat, which is required to fish the area right now also has smaller tires, that may get stuck on the ramp.......
BEEN there.........DONE THAT........
With that being said........I've caught 5-6 walleye EVERY trip this year, and have had at least 1-2 keepers on all but 1 trip.........REALLY fun, and those are GREAT to eat.
Later,
Geo
