    Thumbs up Nice Crappie Day

Went to Herrington this past Friday. Fished daylight til noon. I wasn't sure how the bit would be since the front was through and the temps dropped out quite a bit... My cousin and I ended up catching about 40 crappie on jigs. Most all were well worth keeping and I cleaned up 27 good ones. We had 2 or 3 that were pushing a pound and a half. What a great way to spend a cold November day!

Caught them all over but most came around Keys. Small plastics in white or salt/pepper caught most.

I have been catching them like that for 2 weeks now, just wondering what this rain will do to them?

    Re: Nice Crappie Day

Late October until now has been strong! Post rain should still be good as long as the water stays fairly clear. I'm not worried about the cold temps, that's for sure... Caught them pretty good last year on real cold days into January.

Herrington is overlooked for crappie fishing. I've been really impressed with the big slabs in that lake. I've seen several in the 2+ range come out of Herrington.

    Nice! When's the fish fry?

Dave and I waded the creek Sunday afternoon. Nothing like 55 degree water, 43 degree weather and rain to make you feel like a real fisherman.

Hey jcb... Those kind of water and air temps make you feel like a real fisherman because you are a real fisherman!

Went back this afternoon and the water was muddy way up past Keys. I expect the water to be muddy even futher up the lake by in the morning. I did find shad every where around the next bend in the river past Keys, dont know what was busting the shad. I spent to much time trying to figure that out then Crappie fishing, with no results.
Only caught 4 crappie this afternoon on a White Tube Jig, shallow. But all 4 was 11 inch fish.
    See ya on the lake
